THE DYNAMICS OF INTEGRITY

The inherent integrity and intelligence of the human body is active and available as long as we remain alive. Effective yoga posture practice must access and honour that intelligence and integrity deliberately and systematically. This is a matter of establishing new neuromuscular pathways to replace our habituated ones. This is only possible when we engage with and respond to the inherent intelligence of the body expressing itself through physcal sensation. This responsiveness is expressed through the Dynamics of Integrity. These are seven simple principles of action that can be applied by everyone, regardless of experience, age, fitness, strength or flexibility that allow the whole body to recalibrate itself gradually, gently and effortlessly.

Once the Dynamics of Integrity have been embodied they express themselves spontaneously through new neuromuscular pathways of integrity and their controlling engrams. The power of these neural engrams rests on their reflecting and expressing the inherent design of the human body. There is a deep and potent impulse, arising from a cellular level, for the body to act and move with integrity. Dynamic Yoga acceses, supports and reinforces this impulse until it becomes the habituated mode of action for the body. How long this takes depends entirely on the openness and sensitivity of the student to the intelligence of the body, and not on strength or flexibility.

The Dynamics of Integrity are supported by the Seven Universal Actions of Yoga Posture Practice which integrate the whole body into a functional, structural and energetic unity. Their application in any posture establishes the bandhas in the whole body (sarvangabandha) and allows the breath to become completely natural and free, mind to become clear adn quiet. This reveals the intrinsic relationship between body, mind and spirit at the same time as clarifying the indivisible wholeness of which the bodimind is a vibrant and conscious expression. Deep familarity with Sarvangabandha allows Dynamic Yoga to bring about harmony with all of life, as it brings integrity to the body, peace to the mind and delight from the heart.
